More than 230,000 people marched yesterday for a fourth consecutive weekend in France to protest against the health pass and compulsory vaccination – an increase from last weekend’s figures.
Demonstrations took place in 198 towns and villages. Official figures from the Interior Ministry show that there were 237,000 people marching across the country, including 17,000 in Paris.
This is 33,000 more than on July 31, when 204,000 people marched.
The procession is now heading towards Place Masséna.

There were particularly high numbers of protesters in the southeast, where at least 47,000 people marched, local police said. Among them, 19,000 in Toulon, nearly 10,000 in Nice, 8,000 in Montpellier and at least 6,000 in Marseille.
Most protests have been peaceful, with just 35 arrests and seven minor injuries among law enforcement officials, out of a total of 198 actions nationwide.

At 8:00 p.m., eight people had been taken into police custody in Paris, including a minor.
Among the slogans among the demonstrators: “Macron, we do not want your pass”, “Freedom”, “No to the sanitary pass”, “No to the sanitary dictatorship”, and “Shut up Macron, we do not want it. more ” .

Even heavy rains and hail in some areas did not disperse the most determined protesters.

As in previous weeks, the demonstrators were varied in their beliefs and political goals.
Some had participated in the yellow vest movement, others were anti-vaxx and conspiracy theorists, and others were pro-vaxx but pro-choice. As many came from the far right as from the far left. Many professions were present, including health workers and firefighters.
A protester, Alexandre Fourez, 34, told AFP: “The problem with the health pass is that they force our hand.”
More than 11,000 people turned out for a separate demonstration organized by Florian Philippot – a former member of the National Rally and now founder of his own Les Patriotes party – who has been present at the protests from the start.
