DOVER, DE- Delaware State Police arrested a 27-year-old man for felony assault on law enforcement after a confrontation Sunday morning. Police said Dashawn Toles of Dover assaulted a law enforcement officer after a physical altercation on Sunday morning.

Police said soldiers went to the Bay Road and Thompsonville Road area at 12:30 a.m. for a report of a physical servant. Soldiers learned that Dashawn Toles from Dover had an argument with a 35-year-old victim while driving a car. Police said Toles punched the victim in the face and got out of the car before driving down the side of the road. Soldiers located the suspect walking in the 1700 block area of ​​Bay Road. According to police, Toles became messy and combative with the officers. After a physical altercation with soldiers, Toles was taken into police custody. While in custody, Toles remained combative and damaged a state police vehicle. The soldier involved in the altercation with Toles sustained a minor injury as a result of the incident.

Toles was then transported to Troop 3 where he was charged with 2nd degree criminal assault, wounding a law enforcement officer, arrest for criminal resistance, offensive touching, criminal mischief. and public intoxication. Toles was arraigned in the No.7 Peace Court and was incarcerated at Sussex Correctional Facility on $ 7,001 guaranteed bond.
