French police charge seven people in Netflix ‘Lupin’ heist

French authorities have charged seven people allegedly involved in last month’s attack , according to . On February 25, around 20 masked thieves burst onto the set of the popular Netflix production while filming in a Parisian suburb and stole around $330,000 worth of material. The perpetrators set off mortar-style fireworks to carry out the heist, but luckily none of the cast and crew on set at the time, including star Omar Sy, were injured.

The police charged the seven individuals with armed robbery as part of an organized gang. The French authorities are keeping three of the defendants in police custody and the other four under judicial control. The youngest of the group is 13 years old. Police said they recovered some of the equipment stolen in the heist and are still looking for anyone involved in the incident. Lupine isn’t the only Netflix project to be robbed this year. Just a day before, thieves got away with more than $200,000 worth of antique paraphernalia after breaking into vehicles used for the production of The crown.
