Hundreds of Massachusetts law enforcement officers and security personnel pay their respects to fallen soldier Tamar Bucci – New Bedford Guide

“Earlier yesterday afternoon, hundreds of law enforcement professionals and other public safety personnel gathered at the Church of St. Anthony of Padua to pay their respects to Cavalier Tamar Bucci.

The Association and its members would like to express their humble gratitude to all those who have given their support. Special thanks to the several state police agencies around the country who were in attendance and to the many local departments.

Additionally, the Association acknowledges the support of Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito and Attorney General Maura Healey.

From the Senate, we would like to thank Senate Minority Leader Bruce Tarr and Senator Lydia Edwards. From the House of Representatives, we would like to thank Speaker Michael Day, Speaker Tom Walsh, Vice Speaker Richard M. Haggerty, Vice Speaker Paul Tucker, Rep. Jessica Giannino, Rep. Jeff Turco, Rep. Donald H Wong and Rep. Steve Xiarhos who were all in attendance. We would also like to recognize the North East Regional Troopers Coalition and the National Troopers Coalition.

The support shown today reminds us of the bond that unites our brothers and sisters in law enforcement. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Bucci family, our members, including her 85th RTT comrades, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Tonight we remember Cavalier Bucci for her passion to serve and her ultimate sacrifice to our Commonwealth as an unwavering symbol of bravery. -Massachusetts State Police Association.
