Mr. Editor:

I would like to begin by apologizing to the citizens of Pagosa Springs and Archuletta County for breaking the law while I have been living here for the past two years. For my disrespect and endangering the public, I was sentenced to jail and visited in December to honor my sentence.

I can only write this letter thanks to the swift actions of two deputies from Archuletta County and a patroller from the Pagosa Police Department. While taking a shower, I became unable to catch my breath, felt dizzy, and fell to the ground because I knew I was going to fall. Unable to scream, I knocked lightly on the bathroom door to try and ask for help.

Having had a near death experience last year and having spent my 20 years as a lifesaving instructor, I knew I was in trouble and could only think “I don’t want to die on the floor of the toilets of a prison “.

Among the MPs, Fowler and Cantu, soon joined by Officer Lewitt, knelt beside me to ask if I was okay and to describe any symptoms. I wasn’t much help because I could barely speak, but I think I said, “I think I’m having a heart attack; then started to lose consciousness.

Both women asked me to stay awake, keep talking, and try to sit up while they helped me sit up. Joined by Constable Leewitt, emergency services were called, all agents continually advising me that help was on the way and everything would be fine.

In excruciating pain and terrified, I think I passed out 2-3 times each time to find the police sitting down and telling me to stay awake. I never thought I would be so happy to be woken up by people telling me what to do in my face; but I was and I am more than I can say.

Awakened when the paramedics arrived, they too did their job perfectly and as they were trained; assess, investigate, rehearse, then they all put me on the stretcher and in the ambulance without incident.

On the way to the hospital, paramedics could only find a weak pulse and could not detect a heartbeat in any of the arms as I was driven and worked the 5 minute ride to the ‘hospital.

I will not waste anyone with my conditions or illnesses because this letter is to thank MPs Cantu and Fowler and Officer Leewitt, this woman and this man for saving my life. I’m sure they’ll say, “They were just doing their job there; but I know they have done more. These officers not only saved my life physically, they inspired me to live by letting me know that I was worth saving; I wasn’t so sure of my worth at this juncture, but now I know that I have more to do and give in this life.

I ask that Archuletta County and the Town of Pagosa Springs recognize Members of Parliament Fowler and Cantu and Officer Leewitt for their exceptional professionalism and ability to remain calm in a very stressful situation.

I encourage the citizens of Pagosa and Archuletta County to applaud and celebrate these excellent officers because I think they are what you want to represent this beautiful county and beautiful city.

Please recognize the power of adaptive touch and reach out to help someone without judgment, as these three officers did knowing that helping or being helped are all up.

I sincerely thank MPs Cantu and Fowler and you, Officer Leewitt.

Que la pz prevalencia en la tierra.
