Missing schoolboy triggers police search as concerns grow for ‘welfare’

A missing schoolboy has sparked an extensive police investigation in Renfrewshire.

Josh McDowall was last seen at his home in Erskine around 8am on Monday February 28.

Concerns are growing over the well-being of the 15-year-old.

Josh is described as white, five foot eight inches tall and of a slim build, with short brown hair.

He is believed to be wearing a black French Connection jacket, royal blue Lacoste track pants and black Nike sneakers.

The teenager has links to Paisley, Greenock and Glasgow city center where he could have traveled by bus or train.

Anyone who thinks they have seen Josh or has any information about his whereabouts should contact the police.

Renfrewshire Police Division launched an appeal in a bid to locate the schoolboy on Tuesday morning.

It read: “We are asking for the public’s assistance in our efforts to locate a missing man in Erskine.

“Josh McDowall was last seen at his address in Erskine around 8am on Monday 28th February.

“The 15-year-old has not been seen since and there are growing concerns for his well-being.

“Josh also has connections to the areas of Paisley, Greenock and Glasgow City Center where he could have traveled by bus or train.

“Anyone who has seen Josh since that time, or who has any information which may be relevant, is asked to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident number 2362 of February 28.”
