The President announces his intention to nominate a new federal judicial nominee who is extraordinarily qualified, experienced and dedicated to the rule of law and our Constitution.

This is President Biden’s twenty-seventh round of nominations for federal judicial office, bringing the number of announced federal judicial nominees to 144.

President Biden has spent decades strengthening the federal judiciary, which is why he continues to move quickly to fill judicial vacancies. And he won the highest number of lower court justices for the first year of a presidency since the Kennedy administration.

President Biden also announces his intention to nominate three new candidates to serve as U.S. prosecutors and three new candidates to serve as U.S. marshals. They are public servants who will be indispensable in upholding the rule of law as senior federal law enforcement officials.

These individuals were chosen for their dedication to law enforcement, their professionalism, experience and credentials, their dedication to the pursuit of equal justice for all, and their commitment to the independence of the Department of Justice.

The president has proposed a budget that would dramatically increase funding for law enforcement as part of a comprehensive approach to tackling the rising crime rate this administration inherited last year.

The president also launched a comprehensive effort to combat the upsurge in gun crime that has been happening since 2020, putting more cops on the alert, supporting community prevention programs and cracking down on trafficking. illegal firearms. Confirming U.S. prosecutors as federal law enforcement officials in their district is important to these efforts.

The president has now announced 63 nominees for US attorney and 20 nominees for US marshal.
