Several units from the Eureka Police Department and the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office converged on a residence located at the intersection of E and Dollison Streets in Eureka. E Street is currently blocked between Long and Henderson Streets.

An HCSO deputy at the scene recounts Outpost‘s Isabella Vanderheiden that they have been broadcasting orders for the last half hour to the house which they believe may contain hostages. Bearcat from HCSO, members of the SWAT team and an EPD K9 unit arrived on the scene.

Scanner traffic monitor “todd” gave this account of what he heard at approximately 4:45 p.m. this afternoon.

Unknown Eureka Circumstances: EPD is in the E and Dollison area after an individual called 911 reporting that he escaped a situation at a nearby residence and that several other victims and suspects may still be on the premises. The details are unclear. EPD and HCSO are on stage with a house surrounded and give orders. Off-duty EPD officers are being called back to cover the city as officers deal with this situation. E Street is closed between Henderson and Long
